Coop definition? |

Hi. I was taking a look at http://www.ncba.org/values.cfm and find its attempted
definition of a co-op somewhat confusing. For instance, on the one hand, you state
that coops can be formed to meet "social and cultural needs and aspirations",
but you also limit the definition to organizations not associated along political
or religious lines, which will limit the degree to which such can be fulfilled.
Where does one put religious associations which have a common business for the
support of the members, for instance? Or communities (most notably communes here
in the US) which have common political views? These groups also don't belong in
the .org domain (having distribution of profits to their members) but equally
aren't the customary for-profit corporation (although under US law _all_ such organizations
are corporations - it's what gives them free speech and other rights, under the
14th amendment). Will they be allowed into a .coop domain or not? -Allen
