Contrary to .kids Domains' claims to be representative of the Internet as a whole,
its proposed guidelines are to be based primarily on US laws - see the link below.
Even if one believes that censorship of what children see (including assistance
of such censorship - or of censorship of adults by governments - which is what
.kids would be) is rightful, one has to question whether the US is the appropriate
base for this. US attitudes regarding sexually explicit material are far different
from those in Europe, for instance. Other areas of difference include on US-illegal
drugs (see the Netherlands and marijuana, for instance), violent material, political
speech, and many other areas. -Allen
