Should the icann board decide
to grant any specific or restricted TLD's, whether it be children or airlines, it
alone has then decided which group controls access to that tld. In .kids domains
we set up an independent self funded policy board with a mission statement to operate
in an open and transparent manner. It is not which tld to approve that should
be evaluated in this prooof of concept, but icann setting up policies to restricted
TLD's to be true to certain terms of thier initial charter.
.museum may not have
as much controversy as .kids, but there will still be a point where someone will
challenge the .mus group's right to operate.
We beleive the board does not want
to make policy, only establish a framework for those registries that do to be accountable
to their registrants.
