Subject: How can ICANN hope to get away with this?

It seems ICANN has decided to provisionally select Afilias in favour of IOD - although they say that things may change.

IF ICANN selects Afilias instead of IOD then IOD will need to demostrate that the decision was made unfairly.

Ken Stubbs - DNSO / Afilias / CORE / iDomanin

Amedeu Abril i Abril  - CORE

Greg Crew - CORE MElbourne IT

Arthur Anderson - False report on IOD but hand picked the core members itself

Robert Olson - False report on IOD and is in business with Verisign (NSI)

Jones Day - Influential report on IOD - previous dealings with NSI

ICANN altered its bylaws to influence the voters for this vote directly.

ICANN altered its bylaws to extend the board time of unelected members

The meeting is even being sponsosred by Melbourne IT, Verisign and Network Solutions!!

The arguments that have been sited against IOD are the $35 charge (with no mention of IOD's statement that it is flexible), the first year that IOD would be sole register (without mentioning that this would only be 30 - 60 days from now i.e.by day 1 they would not be sole register) and the financial state of IOD being $450,000 equity with no mention of $6,000,000 in funding. THey did mention that there was $2,000,000 of investment but that there was not a statement to say that it would be used for this purpose (!!!).

Initially there was a move to completely brush over IOD as a formality and with a blink of the eye JVTeam and Afilias are "in the basket".

In light of today's call for the process to be halted pending investigation of ICANN this is enough to bring about a review?
