I think he won't. And therefore I don't like the idea
of adding new protocols like ahttp to the existing ones.But I think it would
be pretty easy to have the main root point to the alternate roots (as works vice-versa).
I don't think anyone cares (except ICANN, Neulevel and some greedy trademark attorneys),
who is running dot biz, as long as it is NOT duplicated. That's the whole point.
And with 1000 gtlds you can forget about trademark infringement, talking about
addresses anyway. The reason why that number of gtlds may never be introduced is,
that the existing companies would loose a marketing tool they just obtained. So,
when ICANN and their supporters talk about "stability", they mean "income" and
that easily explains their behaviour. Again, just my personal opinion ...
