By engaging in the activities described in the petition, Verisign proves that
the internet is an incredible force multiplier. One policy affects hundreds of
millions of users who did not or would not choose to be subjected to it. By
callously appropriating information it would not normally be privy to Verisign
proves that the trust which users give to those who take it upon them to
safeguard and control the internet is easily corrupted. At any time where one
platform, one sole provider, controls information, goods or services, do we see
that this power is abused as a matter of course. It is our responsibility as
users of the first truly planetary network to keep individuals, corporations or
government entities from singularly controlling the technologies and standards
available on it just because of what we protest against today. No single entity
can be trusted to act for the greater good of all users, worldwide. No single
entity should have the power to enforce its policy u!
 pon the rest of humanity.

I have signed and I agree with the petition at http://www.whois.sc/verisign-dns/
