The imposition of such innovative services as SiteFinder by Verisign upon the
rest of the internet, particularly without submitting RFC's for review and
approval by the rest of the internet infrastructure community first, only
reinforces the growing concern that Verisign/Network Solutions cannot be
trusted with the responsibility they have, any more than a fox should be
trusted to guard the proverbial henhouse. The fact that they are fighting
efforts to stop this abuse of their position only proves that they are more
interested in MONEY than the faithful and responsible discharge of their
official duties to the internet. Finally, SINCE WHEN are the interests of
users who misspell domain names more important than proper operation of the
servers and software the internet depends upon? Is this type of reckless and
irresponsible encroachment, for the shameless pursuit of profit, the type of
"innovation" we all have to look forward to for the internet in the new
millenium? Th!
is is not what I call "progress".

I have signed and I agree with the petition at http://www.whois.sc/verisign-dns/
