New Domain Names

Where can people go to encourage adding new generic TLDs such as .web and
.firm as soon as possible?  It doesn't appear to be happening fast enough
for many interested companies. Further, based on a conversation I had with a
Network Solutions executive, unless there is an outspoken uprising among
interested people and companies, there might not be any new TLDs for YEARS!
Is this so?
