RE: ICANN Variable Pricing of Domain Names

-------------------------------------------

The ICANN proposal for variable pricing of domain names will
accomplish little more than place a large portion of the
American economy at great risk to the whims of a very few.

The inherent risk that variable pricing of domain names will
create will lessen investment in new ideas and successful
businesses that are launched every day on the Internet. Those
businesses feed families, hire employees and pay income and
sales taxes to jurisdictions across America.

Variable pricing of domain names will dramatically reduce
innovation by average Americans who have big enough dreams that
drive them to "get up early and stay up late" to grow a business
that will improve their lives and make a better way for their
families.

Variable pricing of domain names is a very bad idea for America.
I am just one of thousands (millions?) of small business owners
whose business would be in grave jeopardy if ICANN is allowed to
institute variable pricing of domain names.

The very idea of variable pricing of domain names is
anti-competitive and un-American. It creates an environment that
encourages and feeds monopolistic practices, while punishing the
success of motivated, hard-working individuals. That combination
cannot be a good thing for America. Or the world.

Sincerely,

Tad Griffin
Richmond, VA.
