ICANN,

The proposed agreements and appendices undermine the
proper
long term responsibility and integrity of the registries. It is a serious
mistake to assume that market forces are going to curb the monetary appetite of
TLD registries. By not capping the cost to registrars for domain registration,
you leave the price of the domain registration to be determined by the next in
line, the registries. What business does a registry have in determining the
value of a domain? Nowhere else in our society is there an example where a
public registry bases the price of their registration service on the potential
or current commercial value of the property being registered. It is NOT their
property to sell; they sell the service of domain registration which has no
higher cost between domains. As for supporting the TLD, the DNS cost for the
root service is negligible on a per domain basis when you compare one domain to
another. PLEASE listen to the voice of reason and come to grips with the
potential power you are giving to the registries!
