The GAC appreciates this further opportunity provided to the community
to submit comments and recommend changes to the ICANN staff's proposed
Enhancing ICANN Accountability process. The GAC will have an opportunity
to further consider the Enhancing ICANN Accountability process at its
meetings in Los Angeles, drawing on the Joint SO-AC-SG-C Comment on
Enhancing ICANN's Accountability Process submitted on September 27,
2014, and other inputs from the community as part of the bottom-up,
consensus process at ICANN. The GAC remains supportive of, and
committed to, the goal of enhanced accountability - both in its own
right and as a critical part of IANA stewardship transition.
Accountability issues are important in the public sector - both at the
national level and within inter-governmental organisations - and the GAC
will consider how relevant expertise can be brought to bear on the ICANN
process. Individual GAC Members might also elect to submit comments to
this public comment period, and at least one has done so.

Chair, Governmental Advisory Committee
