CloudNames is an applicant for .GLOBAL (Application ID 1-1747-40234,
priority number 1140) and .CLOUD (Application ID 1-1747-41841, priority
number 1281).

CloudNames supports the letter submitted to ICANN on 14 August 2013 21:35
from the NTAG. We strongly agree that the names currently listed as
“uncalculated risk”, pose no additional risk than the existing TLDs that
have already been delegated.

As clearly stated in the VeriSign report, name collisions have been
identified for a long time. “One can see that many of the currently applied
for strings actually have lower traffic volumes than those in Table 1 [from
2006 which includes .xxx, .asia, .tel, .post, .sx before they were
launched]. This could indicate that there is nothing to worry about when
adding new TLDs, because there was no global failure of DNS when this was
done before.”

CloudNames primary statement is that the proposed recommendations from
ICANN staff connected to the report, should NOT be approved by the ICANN
Board.

Kind regards,
