Dear ICANN –
Regarding the proposed rules governing companies that provide WHOIS privacy
services (as set forth in the Privacy and Policy Services Accreditation Issues
Policy document):
As a business owner, I urge you to respect internet users' rights to privacy
and due process.
- Everyone deserves the right to privacy.
- No one’s personal information should be revealed without a court order,
regardless of whether the request comes from a private individual or law
enforcement agency. - I want to be protected from spammers, hackers and people
who can access my private and business information and misuse it. That is why i
used WHOIS and will continue to do it. Taking the privacy away is equivalent to
giving criminals free access which is currently denied and protected by WHOIS-
The authorities should come up with other alternatives that does not affect
genuine and law abiding citizens - but target the bad guys. WHOIS is already
doing a great job and i want to see them strengthen and grow - not being
curtailed.
Private information should be kept private. Thank you.
Solomon
