PRIVACY and Domain Registrations

Privacy is a fundamental right of life for a person. Every person has a
right to expect reasonable retention of their private information.

Registering a domain on the internet should NOT be an exception.

Those who state that private information should be withheld from public
view are simply lazy or malicious in their desire to "know" these private /
personal details. If there is EVER a JUST need for any party to know such
details, there are already processes in place through which these details
can be uncovered. Unless a proper and just review of the request is
approved, then there is no need for the requesting party to know.

I also feel that businesses (small, medium, and large) should be treated to
much the same privacy when it comes to domain registration records.
Although, in the case of a business, other means are certainly available
for the discovery of (some of) the owners personal / private details.

As long as there is some means (proxied and redirected, or otherwise)
provided for addressing immediate concerns regarding inter-operation of
domains, I feel that most other details be considered as "protected".

As everything is identifiable by IP right down to a network node... that
should be as detailed as the public information is required to reveal (or
for businesses, what city are they located in, or for multiple-location
businesses what city houses their main office). In otherwords, what city
(or part of a large city) is the server located? Anything more specific
than that can be shared IF the registered domain holder so chooses.

I hope that you find my opinion to be of value and help in making your
decision.

Thank you!
