 iCANN - Respect Our Privacy
To: "comments-ppsai-initial-05may15@xxxxxxxxx" <comments-ppsai-initial-05may15@xxxxxxxxx>Subject: iCANN - Respect Our PrivacyFrom: Eric <evirtmail-dns@xxxxxxxxx>Date: Thu, 25 Jun 2015 23:32:37 +0000 (UTC)
 Dear ICANN
Regarding the proposed rules governing companies that provide WHOIS privacy
services (as set forth in the Privacy and Policy Services Accreditation Issues
Policy document):
The basic problem we the citizens have with opening WHOIS information is
internet name owners will no longer be protected from others abusing
information stored in the WHOIS database. If a government agency indeed NEEDS
to know the owner of the internet name; it can always find out with court
order. By publicizing WHOIS, innocent internet name owners are SEVERELY EXPOSED
to bad people!!!! - most can't afford alternative resources to protect
themselves from evils lurking.
I urge you to respect internet users' rights to privacy and due process.
- Everyone deserves the right to privacy.
- No ones personal information should be revealed without a court order,
regardless of whether the request comes from a private individual or law
enforcement agency.
Private information should be kept private. Thank you.
