I'm emailing to request that the ICANN needs to scrap their current
proposal to eliminate domain privacy restrictions. The WHOIS database
already causes a great deal of trouble for registrars who are forced to
reveal their information in a public database; removing domain privacy
services, their only remaining protection of their privacy, is an
unnecessary step with no clear benefit for the Internet as a whole.
Please respect your mandate to operate in a "in a bottom up, consensus
driven, democratic manner" and support the millions of domain registrars
whose private information will be at risk, instead of the special interests
who would rather obtain that information at no cost and use it for their
own financial benefit.
