Dear Sir / Madam,

Many thanks for your invitation to give us the opportunity to comment on the
proposed measures for Letter/Letter two-character ASCII Labels,

Communications and Media Commission (CMC), an entity established in 2004
as the regulatory authority for all communications services, information
services, and media services in Iraq.

CMC as the sponsoring organization for .iq ccTLD and it aims to protect and
serve the local internet community in Iraq, take the view that (IQ) code
assigned to Iraq as per ISO (3166), and it widely recognized as an
identifier for Iraq.

So releasing this code for gTLD SLD registration will confuse and
misleading the Internet users inside and outside Iraq.

Therefore, CMC requesting ICANN to keep reservations of two-Character ASCII
Labels to Avoid Confusion with Corresponding Country Codes, and to consult
CMC with any (IQ) SLD registration request.

We thank you again and we look forward for your actions based on our
aforementioned comments.

Best Regards

Saif Ahmed Mohamed
