Dear Jeff, In view of todays discussion, please find herewith a communication to the drafting group on the protection of the red cross, red crescent and red crystal names and related denominations at the Second Level, further to the last teleconference and to the requests formulated on this occasion. As you will note, the document combines elements from our initial public comment pertaining to the international legal protection of the denominations with answers to the specific questions put forward to us two weeks ago. Please note that due to absences and missions, the attached document originates with the ICRC and that my colleagues in the American Red Cross and the International Federation will complement with concrete illustrations of instances of misuse or abuse of the denominations at a later stage.
