Rising in Opposition to .XXX

I write today as a small-scale domestic producer of "amateur" adult
entertainment content and websites who will be adversely affected by any
implementation of a ".xxx" or other TLD intended to designate its
participating sites as being for "adults only."

I have been in the adult industry for more than 15 years and like other
small operators, cannot afford to "buy in" to the .xxx scheme, but will be
forced to become a customer by its very existence - merely as a means of
protecting my intellectual property from cyber squatters. This unnecessary
measure is the result of a cost-benefit analysis based upon the realities of
online trademark enforcement and does not indicate a desire to use the .xxx
domains, but will merely add to what will undoubtedly be a pile of parked
.xxx domains.

This is thus tantamount to corporate blackmail, and I encourage you to deny
ICM's application, as .xxx will not benefit the sponsored community it
purports to serve, but rather seeks to suckle on it like an unwanted
parasite.

Regards,

Stephen Yagielowicz
