Yes, it was assumptions that were wrong. Since I run a nonprofit dot org
interests me greatly. However since it never really indicated that something
was a nonprofit, it's a worthless tld at this point from our perspective. It
even invites and assists fraud. because the general public perceives dot org
domains to be nonprofit entities they can and have been easily fooled into
giving money to fraudulant charities and scams such as those set up during
hurricane katrina.

We desperately need a REAL nonprofit TLD such as .NPO that is managed by a
true nonprofit for true nonprofits.
