As an ICANN accredited registrar and partner of New.net, BulkRegister would like to respond in full support of New.net and their product offering.  New.net has made every effort to be a responsible citizen of the Internet name space – providing a needed solution to many businesses and customers on the Internet, including those in the travel industry and other specific niche markets. They have been a trusted partner of ours for over three years now.

Furthermore, New.net’s move at the onset of its business in 2001 to not introduce any conflicting TLDs or confusingly similar extensions was the responsible and right decision, and any move by other parties to counter those efforts could risk introducing consumer confusion and Net instability – running counter to ICANN’s charter and representing a step back in the evolution of the Internet namespace.

An innovative company, New.net began providing a product that worked to fulfill a need not served by existing domains.  Thousands of BulkRegister customers have chosen to register and, most importantly, renew their New.net domains, proving their ultimate value.  These customers and many others currently served by New.net and their .travel domain offering would be greatly disadvantaged by the current proposal of Tralliance.  All involved would be best served and protected by a cooperative transition plan.
