.XXX Extension

I am writing to oppose the .XXX extension.
   
  This will not achieve the desired objectives at all.
   
  As for protecting kids from porn, .xxx will do no such thing. Even if adult 
content is restricted to .xxx, there will still be numerous small, off brand 
domains from tiny countries that allow adult content, thereby completely 
defeating the purpose.

The positive goals of .xxx (preventing access by children and those who don't 
wish to view adult content) can be achieved by a combination of a .kids domain, 
voluntary listing of adult sites with existing content filters, and parental 
involvement.
   
  This proposal will do nothing but create a .XXX ghetto and will not work.
   
  I oppose this move.
