This is just one reason why domains as trademarks is so blinking stupid - they cannot be so.

Trademarks HAVE TO (by law) protect even slight variations of their name in every TLD - as it causes 'consumer confusion'.

Even though there may be hundreds or thousands of other trademarks using the same words - all over the world - so there are bound to be conflicts.

It amounts to a Trademark Tax!

The Internet is being run either by:

1. The most pathetic, ignorant, and moronic imbeciles on the whole flipping planet !!!

2. Groups of corrupt officials, legal establishment and business men.

These are clever people folks - my money is on number 2 - corruption.

The solution is simple:

apple.com is redirected to apple.computer.us.reg

They share word 'Apple' with 727 others in the USA alone (plus all those in 200+ countries).

Apple Records in the UK could then get apple.info - redirected to apple.record.uk.reg

No 'consumer confusion', 'trademark conflict' or 'passing off' there then.

dot REG acts as certificate of authentication and directory.

So somebody in US after Apple computer could enter apple.com or apple.computer.us.reg

They are all corrupt folks.
