an auction would be consistent with view of Afilias as wanting to maximize profit and not being concerned about original Land Rush pre-registrants.  I am afraid I am getting jaded about this and would guess that this is what they will do if not forced to do otherwise.  This may be pessimistic, but may be realistic.  The only action/response which I have seen to anything said or done by original Land Rush pre-registrants is refund of Sunrise reg fees by DomainBank, probably in response to RH/InternetChallenge actions.  Just my two cents.
