      Hi,
Did anyone realise that Nominet (nic.uk) were planning on introducing some new SLDs? One of them is similar in style to GNR's .name: it will be in the format of firstname.lastname.me.uk. There are also some others that the plan to introduce. AFAIK, the plans aren't definite yet, but they look promising. My site ( http://hiltonian.com/services/domains/newtlds ) has more information on the matter, as well as links to Nominet's pages on the matter.

On another subject completely, a video of an ICANN meeting can be found at

http://cyber.law.harvard.edu/scripts/rammaker.asp?s=cyber&dir=icann&file=icann-111600&start=6-17-00

It is quite revealing. From http://www.pacificroot.com/collider RE this video:

"It is important to note that the selections were made on subjective criteria with fewer board members than allowed by their bylaws. By virtue of the process, ICANN also asserted the right to make policy decisions regarding how those businesses would function and the conditions on certain provisions in their individual user contracts. None of these criteria fall under 'technical administration.'"

I hope you find this useful.
Best Regards,
