But web.com does not have IOD's resources, and IOD's alt-root subscriber base.  And IOD might be able to obtain web.net's domain name for far less than web.com without web.com conflicts with .web domains.

If ICANN denies IOD's .web ap or significantly delays it, then IOD's clients would benefit from the ability of mainroot viewers to view their websites by appending .net to their .web domain name.  That is the reason I suggested that IOD buy web.net's domain.

This would be a moot point if ICANN approves IOD's ap for .web within six months.
