Who gave the USA or any government the right to right to run the internet. Think China would see it that way?...and then there's always the French! Governments make money "selling" trademark registrations valid within their borders. How much do they make selling domains? Follow the $$$$ trail. Big $$$$ can't stand dealing with the common bloke as an equal. Does WIPO? The Internet is worldwide. Does ICANN operate as an defacto Internet government, fair and open to scrutiny?...or is much "confidential"? Why? Who(is) hiding what? As far as new tlds go: what difference is it if a cat is black or white...as long as it catches mice? (apologies to the author and for my ramblings)
