Yep, I've been checking for availability on register.com, then buying from a cheaper registrar. |

After buying, it shows as no longer available back at Register.com, but of course
the whois doesn't show anything as yet. It's a stupid chicken-arse way of going
about it, but what at least there's a way of checking if something's been taken.
Why neulevel couldn't just stick a 'not available and no whois data available' flag
for group 2 and 3, I do not know. Clearly it is because they are either incompetant
or corrupt benefiting from confusion and inconvenience (or both). On the bright
side, there are still some good generics available. I just picked up a one word generic
entirely suited to business, which when entered into Google yields 2.5 million results
- can't be bad.
