Anyone can get a masters degree. For a start it is not a particularly major achievement. Basically it's just an extension to a first degree usually focussing on one key area. More in depth analysis is expected, and you there is greater emphasis on research than attending lectures. Most people with a first degree could get a masters if they had the time to devote to it and the funding. Time and funding are the main prerequisites, not a superbrain.

There is also a thriving market in writing assignments and dissertations for masters students, so even if you're not up to scratch academically, you can still fake it, if you have the money, and a lot of people do!
