Depends on which registrar you used, but if you check their registration agreement it should tell what venue must be used for any legal actions.  Generally, the answer is EITHER where you are located OR where the registrar is located. Look at it this way, it is the registrar that must transfer the domain if you lose a dispute or lawsuit, so it is up to them to determine whose authority they respect.
