Subject: IOD has already arrived at a solution

You will note, if you read our ICANN application, that we have already arrived at a solution and proposed it as part of our timeline for going live in the root servers.

In short, we propose a period where we freeze new registrations and allow both UDRP challenges as well as an opportunity for individuals who have registered trademarks, perhaps as long as 6 years ago when the concept of "cybersquatting" didn't really exist, to abandon the name. To encourage this, we offer the registrant a free "exchange" for another .Web domain.

Again, this solution was proposed as part of our original application in November, 2000.
