... like most other industries... therefore the watchdog body which regulates it to protect consumers should be completely detached from the registrar and registry industries... you cannot expect consumers to be protected, when the people set in charge of the protection are largely associated with the primary goal of making as much money as possible for their affiliated industries... this is the experience of the .info roll-out the honest consumer was left unprotected, while those registrars which were dishonest could do largely whatever they wanted... and the regulatory body did nothing
