So - at least the two of us agree - a TLD with Sunrise Period is NOT an OPEN TLD ;-)

For a science company to abuse their trademark to get science.TLD, giving them dominance over all other science companies, is deliberate breaking of the LAW.

The same as trademarks abusing a GRAPHIC to get a WORD is the deliberate breaking of the LAW.

It is not even a loophole - it is overreaching of trademark.

The authorities know this - yet they do not tell trademarks they cannot do it.

Another reason why I believe them CORRUPT.

> ICANN will probably be 'kind' enough to let IOD have it as a resticted TLD only.

Restricted to what?

General business like .biz?

Common sense would dictate that .web was open and general purpose TLD.

You may be right about ICANN abusing their power, only allowing it to be restricted - but hope you are wrong.
