When solving a problem - it is first essential to spend some time to properly identify
it. To get to the root cause of it.From the solutions put forward by certain ICANN
members, working back, it looks to me like the problem was threefold:
1. How can
we increase our power into other countries (given that most see ICANN for what they
are)?
2. How can we remove responsibilities e.g. Articles of Incorporation (The
Corporation shall operate for the benefit of the Internet community as a whole etc.
etc.)?
3. How can we get more money - give more to Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue (ICANN's
law firm) and increase our plunder?
