Registering Political Candidate Sites Legal? |
Message: |

Looking for some info about whether it's legal to register
and post opposition messages on the web address of a political candidate. For
example if Joe Smith is running for senate/governor/mayor is it legal for me to register
JoeSmith.com and put up info about why I think he would make a terrible senator/governor/mayor?
I know this is illegal in the commercial arena but I think the bill stopped short
of making it illegal in the political realm. Are there other avenues in which
I could then be liable? For instance could I be sued for some sort of damages?
Would it make a difference if my site clearly stated that the content was only personal
opinion?I've got a few .info candidate names and I want to have my say. Thanks
for any insight!
