Letting the meaning of com/net/org slip was the biggest mistake that was ever made! These TLDS are completely meaningless now and it is just exacerbated by Network Solutions encouraging people to "register all 3 to prevent others from getting them!"

We need order, meaning, and structure for DNS. When I type 'chicago.map' I should get a map of the city of Chicago. When I type 'mcdonalds.resturaunt' I should get the hamburger joint. There is not any rhyme or reason to the DNS and adding new TLDs will make it worse.

I can see it now -- on the new Network Solution's Homepage:

"Make sure you register all 10 to prevent others from getting your name! It is you god-given right to do so!"

.com
.net
.org
.sex
.store
.firm
.nom
.biz
.web
.eu

We need to stop this abuse now! DNS is so screwed up as it is. We must have order and meaning - otherwise this is an exercise in futility. Future generations will shake their heads and ask:

"What were they thinking?"

As it turns out, the problem is we weren't thinking at all!
