Subject: .org: NOT the Original Intention, and NOT Fair

You can only be bowing to corporate interests here, trying to create artificial demand for .com domains.

.org was never meant for non-profit corporations, and it is not a little unfair to strip us owners of .org domains because you want to change the definition.

I hope you realize that you need to be more responsible as caretakers, or those of us who hold the technical pursestrings will simply re-engineer the system and effectively fire you. You are not in charge of TLDs so that you can assist big business in becoming more powerful.

Leave .org alone, and re-think this .com, .net deal with VeriSign. You serve the public, not corporations.

For your reference, from RFC 1591:

ORG -    This domain is intended as the miscellaneous TLD for
organizations that didn't fit anywhere else.  Some non-
         government organizations may fit here.
