Subject: Article 5 is unacceptable

The continued ownership of the .com TLD by Verisign or a fully owned subsidiary is unacceptable because it goes against the public interest.  The monopoly ownership of the .com TLD by Verisign is a vestige of the government granted monopoly that predates the existance of alternative registrars.  This monopoly is maintained by the proposed changes and is thus against best interests of the public.

Indeed, this action would further distance Verisign and ICANN itself from the public and reinforce the common view that ICANN is not concerned with the public good.
