They are Neustar, and Melbourne IT.
Melbourne IT:
* They run .au, a country code TLD that is, for all intents and purposes, a gTLD already
* They are a CORE registrar
* They were one of 5 ICANN test-bed registrars
So now we there's one more half ton gorilla, with an established TLD already, who was a test-bed registrar, trying to muscle their way in and be a new registry as well.
They know that there are others who claim rights in .web and other TLDl's (which they, of course, claim is without merit), and that they would pay ICANN's legal bills if they get .web! That sounds like a bribe to me.
What is wrong with this picture?
