First of all, I must laud ICANN for its decision to expand the domain name space and thus recognizing the dire need to ease congestion on the net.
As an educator, I find .i proposal from Sarnoff Corporation to be great value. Their “open standards” approach is clearly a good thing for the internet, as it goes through the evolutionary process.  This approach I am sure will bring in competition and thus better products and services for the internet users.  Hope ICANN will select .i tld while deciding to expand the domain name space.
My analysis of the whole application process put .i proposal on top of all other proposals for its usefulness to the internet users, long-term planning, and focus on individuals.  Particualry their concept of a namespace for everyone and every device can really revolutionalize the way internet will be used in the futgure.
Hope ICANN will permit .i tld.
