Of course we're not a constituency, but we can also submit comments to the
WHOIS TF report as an entity, if we have a consensus position.
I'd recommend thatt ALAC support the OPOC proposal, as it proovides at least some privacy for
registrants by letting them list a "point of contact" rather than hhaving to list their
contact info publicly. This seems to strike a balance between contactability and privacy (though I
personally would prefer even more privacy). Note that the "special circumstances"
proposal would force registrants to justify their desire for privacy and would eliminate proxy
registrations, neither of which I think is in the interest of the individual registrant.
