Following on from my previous email (below) I just bumped into one of our
Brussels meeting hosts and mentioned that I had booked into Le Meridien, and
he commented that I had "made the right choice". FYI.

Subject: Brussels -- BC Hotel Recommendation
Dear all,
I just checked the Brussels meeting website to register and saw that the
official hotel has yet to be posted. I have also heard a rumor that the
ICANN staff/board have taken up all of the rooms in an undisclosed hotel and
in speaking with the Brussels .EU team here, they advised that we select
"any hotel near the central station". Andrew Mack suggested Le Meridien
Hotel, and I just looked it up to find that it is, in fact, very close to
the station, Grande Place and most importantly, Square Brussels Meeting
Centre where the meeting will take place. Unless Philip has another
recommendation, being that he is 'on the ground' in Brussels, I would
suggest that we consider Le Meridien as the 'BC hotel' for the Brussels
meeting.
Kind regards,
