Taking note that ICANN signs contracts w hotels, and pays meeting staff to
manage interactions, I said that ICANN has responsibility to investigate.
The secretariat of BC will send a survey to all BC members registered for
Prague.
If you paid by AMEX, you have corp Conciege to appeal to. Some have Hilton
Honors membership. However, I would ask, that even if you resolve for yourself,
you fill in the Secretariat spreadsheet w information. When you booked. If you
used ICANN website link, how many nights, when notified, what hotel moved to.
I am inviting chairs of other Constituencies to share information. As well as
GAC.
If this kind of "walking of guests" can happen at a major chain, ICANN has a
poor contract. If there are some kind of circumstances of necessity, ICANN shld
advise community.
This is more than an inconvenience for us as active participants. It bodes ill
for ICANN competency. I am assuming the COO who should be accountable for
smooth running of such details, understands this kind of issue negatively
impacts ICANN and its image.
I am assured by Nick Tomaso that the meeting staff are addressing in a call
tomorrow am w Hilton Prague. I will ask for public notice by COO on web site,
and ask that the COO manage this with full disclosure and information to
affected registrants.
Other suggestions are welcomed.
