sorry to be late on this thread this week...

Chris - thanks for pulling this together at the 11th hour.

Aparna - it's clear you did a ton of work in this final round of
drafting/editing, thank you.  Certainly I'm fine with the updates you made
the Focus Area I had initially drafted.

And as a point of clarification:  I think I was the one who first struck
that entire second sentence from the Vision statement, which included the
public interest language.  The recent email exchanges have clarified the
more important policy position of the BC on this terminology, but FWIW I
initially struck that bc the original ICANN draft Vision statement was,
IMHO, entirely too long and full of unnecessary wordiness.  The 'public
interest' sentence was talking about 'how' ICANN fulfills its Vision, and
'how' has no place in Vision Statements, at least in my world.  So I cut
it, much like I cut the opener "ICANN's vision is that of" which is
completely redundant in a Vision statement.   Point is, my initial strike
was not policy or terminology related, it was to create a shorter and more
focused Vision statement.
