To the ICANN Board:
As a loyal domainer for more than 10 years, I am very concerned to hear
about the possible ruling on contracts relating to domain registration
prices. This ruling will let registrars impose their will on all
domainers and charge outrageous fees that many of us will not be able to
come up with. The registries will be able to cybersquat on trademarks
that many people already hold. What is to stop them from charging
millions of dollars for some domains and hundreds of thousands of
others? How is that going to be beneficial to businesses, consumers and
most importantly, the advance of the Internet? Please think about what
this ruling will do from the man at the top of the totem pole on down
when you rule. It affects everybody in a negative fashion except one
group. The registrars.
Thanks,
A Concerned User
