To the ICANN Board,
The lifting of price controls for org, biz and info is a detrimental and short
sighted
proposition which, I believe, has been proposed without the consideration of
business owners/site creators within these name spaces.
The idea of increasing renewal/registration fees possibly in line with a
domain's perceived value (perceived by whom and how?) is fundamentally flawed
both in terms of commercial sense and indeed morally. A great many people and
organisations have invested many years of hard work and money building sites
and businesses around these extensions. The internet has evolved and succeeded
due to sensible and consistent domain registration fees. I do not want to see
the internet turned into a virtual wasteland and I especially do not want to
see thousands of small businesses destroyed.
The proposition of no set contract price should be erased, permanently.
