Ladies and Gentlemen,
The lifting of price controls formerly imposed on the pricing of registry
services can potentially damage the Internet beyond repair. It is completely
unfair for a third party (and a monopoly) to arbitrarily set prices for domain
names. The companies supporting registry services have fair opportunity to
profit by selling add-on services. Furthermore, it is completely unfair for
registries to be able to charge potentially large premiums for trademarked
names (which can certainly happen under the Proposed .BIZ, .INFO AND .ORG gTLD
Registry Agreements).
Please keep the Internet fair and reasonably prices. Through the coming years,
millions of new domain names, in addition to those already existing, will be
registered. Incremental increases, such as the increase from $.15 to $.25 to
ICANN are completely reasonable. PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW UNCHECKED PRICE
INCREASES ON DOMAIN NAMES!
