To Whom It May Concern;
A domain renewal price increase should be based on fair pricing
guidelines, such as higher operating costs, for example. However, as I
understand it, there is a new proposal, which if approved, will allow a
registrar to raise renewal fees for any individual .biz domain, with no
ceiling. I think such a radical and unregulated pricing change would
invite a host of problems, some of which may not become apparent until
after the fact.
A key component of the internet's success is due to access and
oportunity for all. Let us continue in that direction. For many people,
much higher domain renewal fees will be a roadblock to their success
and/or internet presence. At the very least, this proposal should be put
on hold until more people have had a chance to voice their concerns. I
only just now heard of it, and it seems the deadline for voicing an
opinion is almost up. Why is this important proposal being rushed
through before more people can contribute their opinions?
Thank you;
Brad Britton
