Dear Sirs,
Please accept this email as notice of my firm opposition to the proposed
variable pricing of domain names.
The internet is perhaps the only significant arena of business activity in
which small businesses can compete with large companies on equal terms.
Variable pricing - if introduced - would penalize small businesses, many of
which have devoted considerable time, effort and expense on building their web
presence on one or more domain names. They have done this in the expectation
that the pricing of domain names would remain fair.
A change to the current system would invite the charge that monopoly power was
being misused, and that big business was being favoured.
Yours respectfully,
Bernard Howes
