ICANN - Daniel Collins Says Respect Our Privacy

Dear ICANN –

Regarding the proposed rules governing companies that provide WHOIS privacy
services (as set forth in the Privacy and Policy Services Accreditation
Issues Policy document):

I urge you to respect internet users' rights to privacy and due process.
- Everyone deserves the right to privacy.
- No one’s personal information should be revealed without a court order,
regardless of whether the request comes from a private individual or law
enforcement agency.

Private information should be kept private. Thank you.

By the way, I fail to see how exposing WHOIS information is going to help
anyone at all. Whoever drafted this proposal should really consider the
consequences of passing such an absurd piece of "online legislation". Let's
face it. You guys are turning into the "congress" of the world wide web.
And I would not carry that title with pride given how ineffective Congress
has been in the past couple of decades...
